Drummer Ferenc Nemeth and guitarist Attila Laszlo, both native born Hungarians, are both accomplished artists at their crafts and have worked with numerous American jazz notables over the years. Bridges of Souls , their latest collaboration finds them teaming with bassist Jimmy Haslip and keyboardist Russell Ferrante of the famed Yellowjackets band, and the result is an excellent musical accomplishment. The interplay and musicianship is at a high level. Laszlo and Nemeth are the primary composers of all the tunes on the production, which also includes a nice take on a Radiohead composition. The project includes a couple of vocal tracks featuring singers Lara Bello and Charlie Horvath. This is an a great exhibition of how music can meld cultures to produce something of artistic excellence.
