Freedom Jazz Dance is veteran singer Julie Kelly’s ninth album of music. Co-produced by Barbara Brighton and the recording’s pianist, Josh Nelson, the album is nice collection of off-the-beaten-path tunes spanning the spectrum of genres, delivered in the singer’s own distinctive style. Joining in the merry music-making here are guitarists Larry Koonse and Andrew Synowiec, bassist Luca Alemanno, drummer Dan Schnelle, percussionist Aaron Serfaty, saxophonist and flutist Danny Janklow. Well done.
