New York City-based singer Jane Scheckter shines brightly on her latest recording. I’ll Take Romance is a 17-track collection of tunes wonderfully delivered by a seasoned vocalist who knows her way around a song. The set includes tunes by Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, Donald Kahn and Shayne Styne, among many others. The music is also powered by the presence of Tedd Firth on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, and Peter Grant on drums, with Firth creating fantastic arrangements for Scheckter to make magic, and that she does.
