Saxophonist Michael O’Neill’s And Then It Rained is a fantastic work. It’s O’Neill long-planned collection of his own original compositions and it is worth the wait. It’s a truly eclectic set of swing and ballads, with every track providing the canvas for some wonderful performances. Helping to deliver the quality effort on the production are Michael Bluestein on piano, Jason Lewis on drums and Dan Feiszli on bass. The synergy between the talented unit is outstanding and benefits the tunes enormously. A truly excellent and thoroughly enjoyable recording.
