Composer-pianist Fred Nardin shifts gears on a dime on his latest Look Ahead. Nardin possesses tremendous ease and command on the keys. The trio is completed by bassist Or Baraket and drummer Leon Parker. The interplay is fantastic between the three and the performances are infused with an exuberance that is captivating. Add to the mix a collection of nicely reworked covers and fantastic originals compositions and you have the makings of an outstanding recording, which is the case with this one.
