My Americana serves as a canvas for pianist Ernest Turner to paint in the many colors of this fantastic work. Turner’s joyful interplay with bassist Lance Scott, Jr. and drummer Jon Curry is wonderfully engaging and musically captivating. True to the recording’s title, the production blends a cross-section of musical influence into a wonderful aural tapestry in a set consisting of nicely re-imagined compositions by Kenny Kirkland, Fats Waller, Stevie Wonder. Turner’s compositional contributions are equally impressive. A truly fantastic listening experience.
