Nancy Erickson Lamont’s 4th album, Through The Passages, is a colorful, contemplative journey through life’s experiences. Lamont’s pleasing, easy vocals weave seamlessly through a menu of original tunes, most of which were co-created by the singer and an array of musical collaborators, including Darin Clendenin. The talented ensemble of players featured includes pianists Josh Nelson and Shawn Schlogel, trumpeter Sean Jones, saxophonist Brent Jensen, trombonist Jerome Smith, bassist Michael Glynn, and drummer Stefan Schatz. Johnaye Kendrick, who co-produced the recording, also provides piano, viola, and background vocals. The collective talents craft soaring soundscapes that provide a canvas for Lamont’s wonderful vocal tapestry.
