Vocalist Lynne Veronneau and her band are back with a great new product called Jazz Samba Project. The project coincides with and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Charlie Byrd/Stan Getz iconic collaborative recording. The band does that effort justice with a sexy, cool set of Brazil-flavor jazz. Veronneau’s vocal has all the right timbre and touch, while the band makes you feel like their playing on a beach in Rio (The only thing missing are the seagulls). The core of the group is Ken Avis and David Rosenblatt on guitars, and Peter Walby on drums, with guest players Jeff Antoniuk on saxophone Jim McFalls on trombone and Alejandro Lucini on percussion. All involved contribute to making this a great and fitting celebration of a momentous musical event.
