Vocalist Amikaeyla new release, Being In Love, is a simply gorgeous record that only gets better with each song. The singer’s vocals are resonant and thoroughly captivating, and the song arrangements are likewise fantastic. The musical menu is compromised of 4 original compositions and six beautifully-crafted covers of classic tunes. To make matters even better, the production benefits from a massive lineup of talent, which includes Trio Globo members Howard Levy on harmonica, pianist and pennywhistle, Eugene Friesen on cello and Glen Velez on percussion. Also contributing to this project are the talents of bassist Esperanza Spalding, percussionists Sheila E, her brother, Peter Michael Escovedo, John Santos and Michael Spiro, along with guitarists Ray Obiedo (who co-produced the effort) Jason McGuire and Theresa Perez. Additional vocalists on the recording on the project include Linda Tillery, Kimiko Joy, Sharon Henderson and Helen Gray. Amikaeyla paints emotion beautifully with her voice on this truly outstanding effort.
