Trombonist Shannon Gunn brings a hip, modern sound to the instrument with Gunn’s Ablazin’. The production is a nice blend of musical landscapes, joining excellent compositions by Gunn with nicely re-worked covers of classic and contemporary tunes. Gunn is assisted in this effort by quality musicianship from Hope Udobi on keyboards, Chris Barrick on vibes, Garrett Gleason on guitar, Mikel Combs on bass and Kelton Norris on drums. A truly entertaining recording by a very talented artist who brings something fresh and engaging to the musical table.
