Randy Bernsen’s “Heart, Mind and Soul” is a pleasing showcase of virtuosity, brilliantly supported by a stellar roster of musicians. The album features the dynamic saxophonists Bob Mintzer and Bob Franceschini, whose performances add rich textures and depth to the tracks. Bassist Jimmy Haslip lays down grooves, while trumpeter Dan Davis delivers vibrant, expressive solos. Keyboardist George Whitty also contributes to the effort along with the Nizri brothers, Uzi on keyboards and David on drums making solid contributions.
