Omer Leshem | Play Space
Omer Leshem’s third studio album, Play Space, showcases the tenor saxophonist’s rich blend of Mediterranean grooves, European classical harmonies, and the spontaneity of modern jazz. Accompanied by pianist Moshe Elmakias, guitarist Nadav Remez, bassist Elam Friedlander, and drummer Ben Silashi—all fellow Israeli musicians based in New York—Leshem delivers nine original compositions that traverse a spectrum from introspective lyricism to dynamic improvisation. The quintet’s cohesive interplay and individual virtuosity infuse the album with both warmth and adventurousness, offering a fresh and engaging addition to the contemporary jazz scene.
