Singer Mayita Dinos’s debut recording is a graceful and engaging production that weaves together colorful musical tapestries. The Garden Is My Stage is a wonderful musical journey across varied cultural landscapes featuring an eclectic array of compositions by the likes of Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Freddie Hubbard, Stevie Wonder and Antonio Carlos Jobim, among others. Dinos also lends her hand to the excellent selection of tunes with her own lovely contribution. The tunes are brought to life with the help of an outstanding lineup of musicians, which includes Bill Cantos and Rich Eames on pianos, Alex Budman on flute, clarinet, soprano sax, Dori Amarilio on guitar, Steve Hass on drums, Tiki Pasillas on drums and percussion, Gabe Davis on acoustic bass and Hussain Jiffry on electric bass.
