Holding Space is the long-awaited live album by singer Lizz Wright. The recording captures the regal Georgia chanteuse holding court at a Berlin, Germany stop at the end of her 2018 tour. The 10-song set is a solid representation of tunes from throughout her studio recording career. What comes across in each song is Wright’s command of delivery and powerfully emotive vocals. There is a sense of freedom and fun that emanates from this collective of musicians which includes Chris Bruce on guitar, Bobby Ray Sparks II on keys, Ben Zwerin on bass, and Ivan Edwards on drums. The audience at the show is clearly captivated by Wright and the incredible performances herein. This production is a wonderful encapsulation of the experience of being in the presence of this incredible artist’s glow.
