Fantastic vocals and and fresh compositions are the magic on Flying, the outstanding second album from singer Johnaye Kendrick. In addition to fantastic delivery of the lyrics, Seattle-based Kendrick also wrote 6 of the compositions and brings wonderfully refreshing arrangements to tunes by Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen, Ray Noble and John Mayer, among others. The solid musical accompaniment comes from Dawn Clement on piano and keyboards, Chris Symer on bass and D’Vonne Lewis on drums and percussion. Guitarist Michael Nicolella sits in on a track, with Adore and Nola Oliver providing additional vocals on the project. Kendrick also produced this outstanding recording, proving herself even more an all-around phenomenal talent.
