Tenor sax men Jeff Rupert and George Garzone lead a stellar band of excellent music makers on their duet release. The Ripple is a solid production featuring quality interplay between the two leads a whole lot of swing, with a couple of nice ballads in the mix as well. The set is comprised of a mix of original tunes and standards by Wayne Shorter, and Hoagy Carmichael, among others–all nicely arranged. In addition to the fantastic brass, the full band of Richard Drexler on piano, Marty Morell on drums and Jeremy Allen on bass deliver quality performances. The unit sounds fantastic together. Just an outstanding recording.
