Jamie Shew’s Spicy, Classy and a Little Sassy is a perfect description for this wonderful showcase of her luminous jazz vocals talents. The recording follows her previous effort produced in the aftermath of the loss of her husband. This is a vibrant exploration of love’s many facets, in soulful reinterpretations and clever original compositions, all delivered with sophistication, warmth, and a playful edge. Shew, who also penned one of the tunes, produced and co-arranged much of the music, teams up with a stellar band here. The lineup includes Jeremy  Siskind on piano, Kait  Dunton on Hammond B3/Rhodes, Mike Scott on guitar, Lyman  Medeiros on bass and vocals, and Mark  Ferber on drums. The production blends swinging tempos and tender ballads very nicely, with Shew striking the right tone and delivering each with a nice blend of subtlety and finesse.
