Recording during a three-week tour Live in Europe capture the performance of pianist Fred Hersch and his longtime trio of bassist John Hébert and drummer Eric McPherson. Hersch says the shows recorded in Brussels during the stretch represented some of the trio’s best work both acoustically and artistically. Hersch is stellar in the lead and his bandmates are in top form as well here, with the three attuned to each others’ every creative move. The set is collection of Hersch originals, including fittingly lively tribute to Sonny Rollins. It’s a fantastic live work that makes a great addition to any music lover’s library.
