Elena Maque | Feel Again

Vocalist/saxophonist Elena Maque is a dynamic talent as aptly demonstrated on her debut effort. Feel Again is a nicely constructed production featuring six tunes composed by Maque alongside several covers of tunes by Antônio Carlos Jobim, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and Jimmy Davis, Roger Ramirez, and James Sherman. Maque has a pleasant delivery with her vocal and physical instruments which gives the recording a warm ambiance throughout. The musicianship of the other players is equally solid with the talents of Scott Kinsey on piano, Gary Novak and D’vonne Lewis on drums, Hadrien Feraud, Logan Kane and Michael Glynn on bass, Alexey Nikolaev on tenor sax, Brad Dutz on percussion, Katisse on flute and Darrius Willrich on backing vocals. This is a thoroughly soothing and entertaining debut.
