Magical Kite, the latest from singer Christine Hitt, is a wonderful showcase of the singer’s deft talent. Hitt beautifully covers an array of tunes, ranging from spirituals, pop and standards, to one of her own. The nicely done covers includes works by Harold Adamson and Victor Young, Charlie Parker, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder and Dan Fogelberg, among others. The wonderful musicianship which accompanies Hitt comes from Geoffrey Keezer, who also produced parts of the album, on piano, Eric Hitt on bass, Jeff Hamilton and Gene Coye on drums, John Beasley on piano, Fender Rhodes and melodica. Erin Bode and Cory Hitt provided backing vocals on some of the tunes as well. A fantastic recording all the way around.
