Wouldn’t Be Here Without You is guitarist Brett Laidler’s stirring second recording under his name. The production is one that deftly blends many flavors and moods very nicely into a superb collection of originals, penned by Laidler. The electic and electric set features tunes that evoke vibes of New Orleans to Chicago to New York feels, and every place in between. The playing here is first-rate from all involved including the lead musician who is joined by Jamie Newman on organ, Mark Buselli on trumpet, Ned Boyd on saxophones and flute, Scott Pazera on bass, and Richard “Sleepy” Floyd on drums. Fantastic solos and overall musicianship combined with outstanding compositions make this offering something truly special.
