Vocalist Allegra Levy’s third recording is a bit of a lunar orbit. The aptly titled Looking at The Moon is a wonderful 13-song collection in which the moon is central to, or part of, the tune. The set includes nicely arranged and interpreted compositions by Nick Drake, Doris Day, Neil Young, Jimmy Van Heusen, Johnny Burke, Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer, among others. The fantastic music backing Levy is provided by pianist Carmen Staaf, guitarist Alex Goodman and bassist Tim Norton, who also arranged most of the songs. An intimate and captivating album.

Tracks: Moon River, I Got The Sun in the Morning, Harvest Moon, Blue Moon, Moon Ray, Moonlight in Vermont, Moonglow, Polkadots and Moonbeams, No Moon at All, It’s Only a Papermoon, Pink Moon, I’ll Seeing You.
