Drummer-composer Alan Hall credits the creation of the music on Heroes, Saints and Clowns with helping him to stay sane in the midst of turmoil of our times. Hall wrote all of the songs on the effort, which are exploratory and expansive, at times evoking feelings contrary to and reflective of the moment. Excellent performances come from all of the players on the production, which includes Dillon Vado on vibes and percussion, John Gove on trombone, Paul Hanson on basson and tenor sax, Greg Sankovich on piano, organ and keyboards and Jeff Denson on acoustic and electric basses. Great compositions and a truly fantastic musical escape.
